Greetings From California: Desert Garden
When arriving in San Diego, our first stop was to Balboa Park. We had half the day left after stopping for lunch so we decided to explore this beautiful park. While driving we saw, what Kelly called, a "crazy cactus" and we had to stop for a picture. Upon stopping we realized it wasn't just one giant cactus but a whole garden of cacti! I LOVE cacti (is that weird?) so I was elated by our discovery! It was like heaven! Of course, being us, we had a little photo shoot.
It was so much fun getting to show off my new purchases among my favorite plant. I even tried impersonating the cactus in one of the pictures below! I was wearing a $7 graphic tank top from Nordstrom Rack (they have the best deals) with shorts and a hat from Anthropologie. The look was completed with sandals from Shoe Land and sunnies from Beya (only $3!!).
Needless to say, I will be working towards recreating this garden in my own backyard one day. Stay tuned!
After our stroll through my new happy place, we headed over to the main part of Balboa Park where the Botanical Building and museums are. A site definitely worth visiting.
I brought my mustard yellow, fringe, bucket bag from Urban Outfitters to tote around my wallet, phone, and both my cameras. FYI, this bag is like Mary Poppin's bag, limitless space!
As the amateur photographer I am, I took a ton of pictures. It was impossible not to with all the beautiful sites this park had to share. Not being from California, I don't know how popular Balboa Park is but if I lived in San Diego, I would come here every day.
